Merry Christmas to all!

Hey everyone!  It is about that time again for baby Cornett belly photos.  Baby is growing lots and making mommy bigger :)  Most people don't think I look very pregnant at all... I think mostly because of the clothes I wear.  Some of my clothes hide my belly pretty well, while others show off baby proudly!  Kenton says that you wouldn't be able to tell I was pregnant from behind, (which is definitely a compliment... thanks hunny!).  Either way, as long as baby is healthy, mom is happy!

I got a much needed pedicure today, and it felt wonderful!!  Christmas is just a few days away, and I think we have everything ready.  My sisters Elaine, Bekah, and I went grocery shopping today, as we are cooking Christmas dinner this year.  Like I've said before, my mom makes the best Christmas dinner, so we will try to live up to her standards.  We really wish both sets of parents (future grandma and grandpa Cornett and grandma and grandpa Winters) were here this year for Christmas, but I guess we can wait till the spring ;)

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!  Remember Jesus is the reason for the season.  He has given us more joy and blessed us in so many ways this year, we are so thankful for Him!  We love you all, and hope you enjoy the pictures!

23 Week appointment!

Hey all!  I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful time of year!  I know I am :)  Yesterday we had our 23 week doctor appointment.  Baby Cornett is as healthy as can be.  We got to have an ultrasound just to make sure baby is growing perfectly.  It is always such an excitement to see the little bundle of joy at every appointment.  We love baby soooooo much already!!  Baby had it's legs above it's head... I think baby was trying to do some gymnastics for us.  The heartrate is healthy and strong, brain measured perfectly, arms and legs look fantastic.  We could see babys little fingers and hands, as he/she was waving at us, and we even got to see babys tiny little tongue!  Kenton and I couldn't be any happier!  To quote our ultrasound tech... "looks like baby has momma's nose!"
Kenton and I have signed up for some classes, that will hopefully prepare us for the joy of delivery and breastfeeding :)  I will also be taking prenatal yoga, starting in January.
Baby is starting to kick a lot more now.  It is such a weird, but wonderful feeling.  We started to get the babys room all cleaned, just waiting to fill it up :)
We love you all so much, and thank you for all your love and support.  We hope you have a wonderful Christmas, and a blessed New Year!

Growing Baby

This is the latest of Baby Cornett.  As you can see, baby is growing a lot everyday.  Baby has been moving around quite a bit, and I can even feel baby kick through out the day!  Kenton has been reading up on "What to Expect the First Year."  He is learning everything there is to know about breastfeeding, talking to baby, and what color baby's poop should be :)  He is going to be such a great daddy!!!!!

I am very excited to cook Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.  I baked the pumpkin pies today, Kenton and I have already had a few pieces ;)  It will be my very first thanksgiving where I will do all the cooking.  My mom is always the best at cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, so I really hope I can live up to her standards!

Hope you enjoy the new pictures, there will be lots more to come in the future!  Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!  We love you all!!!

Half way there!

We met our half way mark this week, 20 weeks down.... 20 to go!  We had our anatomy ultrasound at our doctors appointment yesterday, and everything looks AMAZING!  Baby Cornett is as healthy as can be.  Since we didn't find out the sex, I won't say him/his, her/she, I will refer to him/her as "baby."  We got to see babys feet, legs, hands, spine, kidneys, brain, eyes, nose, arms... pretty much everything, except "the parts" ;)  Babys heartbeat is 140, perfect!  The ultrasound tech was having a hard time getting pictures of the little one, because baby was sooo wiggly!  Such a sweet little baby, with a cute personality already!  We actually get the privilage of seeing baby more often than usual because of the medication I am taking.  My doctor wants to make sure baby is growing the way that baby should be growing.  We will have another ultrasound at our next appointment, which I am perfectly fine with!!!!!

Babys side profile!

I can finally say that I am feeling much better.  I am eating more, which is great!  I have only gained 4 lbs so far, so I'm expecting to pack on a few towards the end... especially during the 3rd trimester (that is when most people have told me they gain weight).  Kenton and I went out to one of our favorite restuarants last night (Texas Roadhouse) to celebrate the half way mark!  I had steak, mashed potatoes, salad, and some of my friend Jenny's fries!!  (Thanks Jenny!)  It was AWESOME!  I haven't really had any cravings, I am just thankful I can eat!  I still don't like chicken or hamburgers, but those are pretty much the only 2 things.

The Cornett family is doing very well!  We are very excited for our new addition!  I will be posting more pics of my belly soon, baby is growing everyday!  We love you all very much, thank you so much for all the love and support!

4 months down...

16 weeks Pregnant
We had our 3rd prenatal checkup today.  Baby Cornett's heartbeat is 150, which is perfect!  I'm still not feeling the best, but since I've tried EVERYTHING to make the nausea and vomitting go away, it is pretty much a waiting game.  The doctors visit was very quick.  We checked my weight, blood pressure, had a quick session on "how've you been feeling lately?," and then listened to the babys heartbeat.  Our next doctors appointment is in 3 weeks.  At that time, we will have our anatomy ultrasound.  Kenton and I decided that we are not going to find out the sex, or tell anyone the names we've picked out.... it will be a surprise for everyone!

Currently, I enjoy hot chocolate made from cocoa powder, pizza with light sauce, corn chex, and what I like to call a BLT minus the lettuce and tomato... so basically toast with mayo, mustard and turkey bacon... yum!

I will be getting maternity clothes soon.  Most of my clothes still fit just fine, but some things are getting a little snug.

16 weeks....
That is pretty much everything that is going on right now.  We will keep posting updates/pictures.  We love you all very much!

Showin Some Skin

Katy 14 Weeks Pregnant
Isn't she beautiful? This is one of many photos that are soon to come.  Sweats and pajamas are the clothes of choice. Will have to start looking for maternity gear soon. I was thinking about a hot pink crush velvot puma suit. Still trying to get Katy convinced.

Katy is feeling a tad better. She made the most amazing ham soup with fresh veggies and chicken broth. An absolute winner! Spaghetti-O's are a long gone craving. Now it is all about the flavored water and fruity popsicles. Fine by me ;)

Katy and I were looking at Old Wives-Tales today. It turns out that fast heart beats doesn't necessarily mean its a girl, but either way we will be just as happy. Princess or Stud any child is a blessing.

Hope to talk to you all very soon!

Doctor's Office Round 2: Is our baby the Tin-Man?

Visit number two went surprisingly smooth. We had a quick meeting with the OBGYN to see if there was ANYTHING that could nip this morning sickness in the butt.  The doctor ended up prescribing another medication, which turns out doubles as a sleeping aid. Two thumbs up from Katy :)

Next on the list... Katy and I were actually going to get to hear the heartbeat for the very first time... or so we thought. After two minutes of running the Mini-Doppler over the jelly-belly... no sound. NO SOUND? Not to worry, the doctor assured us everything was OK.

Typically there wouldn't be another ultra-sound at this stage in the pregnancy.  We were able to get another sneak peak as they wanted to get an actual visual of a healthy heartbeat. Indeed it was healthy at 169 beats per minute. There is a wives tale going around that fast heart rates = baby girl. Who knows? All we knew after checking out our newborn is that it wasn't afraid to strike a pose. Hiccups, hands in the air, wiggling and bouncing...It's a busy body.

Katy has neither gained nor lost any weight and is as healthy as a horse. Her taste buds are branching out to more sophisticated meals including, Campbell's Soup, Pizza (light sauce), and even Salmon!!! Her down time consists of good flicks on HBO, college football, and an occasional Hell's Kitchen (when I'm home). She's been a trooper so far. Katy is going to hold off on joining in  P90X at least until the second trimester.

Love you all! More photos are soon to come!!! Come visit us in Boise. Our doors are open!

DAD

Father...

Dad...

Now those are some names to chew on. If feels like just yesterday I was getting used to Katy calling me her fiance and then husband.  Now, in just a few short months we get to add another name to the table...Dad. No way. When did this happen? I'm going to be a father already? It's funny to look back and realize my parents were younger than I am when they had me.  Going through a few family photos this afternoon only left me with only one thought....  Son or daughter, I can't wait to be.... a Dad.

Doctor's Visit #1: Is this for real?

Katy and I had our first doctor's visit this afternoon. Session one began with a simple question and answer session. What can you eat, not eat, drink or not drink, medical history, etc. We found that Katy is as healthy as can be and is allowed a caffeinated beverage once in a great while. She doesn't have to give up her green tea!

After our meeting with the OBGYN it was off to the Ultra Sound Lab. Unfortunately at this stage in the pregnancy jelly on the belly did not give us a clear enough picture. However, with a few other techniques and a magic wand, out of nowhere came this beautiful shot of Baby Cornett.

The baby is now roughly the size of a quarter. Given its size, they determined that Katy is 8 weeks and 5 days along. Moving from right to left, it has two arms that you can see just below the head, a little stomach, and two stubby feet below that.  The baby was wiggling with joy and you could even see its heart beat. The little round circle below the baby is called the yolk sac. This is where the baby draws nutrients from in its first weeks.

Blood work was are final stop for the visit. A few vials full and we were off on our way.Our next doctors visit is September 29th. We will keep you posted...

Here we go!

Today marks the first day of tracking Katy and the new baby's progress. Katy is roughly 8 weeks along with a doctors appointment this coming Wednesday. Websites tell us that the baby is roughly the size of a blueberry. From looking at photos, it looks mostly like a little tadpole with a head and two arms. We have quickly found that the rumors are true... "When you're pregnant, you don't feel well!".  Katy is experiencing light morning sickness, followed by stomach aches throughout the day.  For the first time ever, she had the opportunity to use one of those little brown  paper bags on a flight to Ohio to visit some family. Outside of that flight there have been no major upsets. The only weird cravings so far have been Spaghetti O's and Celery Sticks with Blue Cheese.

News from the Doctor will come soon...
