so thankful!

Tonight was an exciting night for us.  My mom and I had just got home from picking up a few things from the store and some pizza for dinner.  I had 2 grocery bags in my hands (they were very light), and as I stepped up onto the front step of our house, I somehow lost my balance and tripped and fell right on my hands and knees.  I laid there for a second because it hurt so bad.  I wasn't too worried at first because I knew I didn't fall on my tummy, but I began to get a little concerned when the baby wasn't moving around as much as usual.  This baby is very active, so for it to not move around like it usually does worried me a little.  He/she usually moves around a lot right after I eat, and it wasn't moving around at all.  We waited a little while, and after about an hour we decided to go to the hospital just to make sure everything was fine.

Once I got to the hospital, they put me on the monitor to check baby's heartbeat and to see if I was contracting at all.  Thankfully, everything looked perfect!!!  We were there for about 40 minutes or so, and there was nothing to worry about.  I felt much better once I was able to see my baby's heartbeat.  I was able to feel some contractions, and it was cool to see it on the monitor.  I am so glad that baby is doing well.  Other than me having bruised up knees, I am doing well too.

The thing about this whole adventure is that this was the second time this week that I fell, hard on my knees.  The first time it was on the carpet, and I could feel my baby move around afterward, so I wasn't too worried.  This time I fell much harder, on concrete, and he/she wasn't moving like normal.  I'm so glad God was watching over us.  I think I am going to be taking it easy these next few weeks.  I don't think Kenton or my mom will let me leave the house... lol.

Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers!  Love you all!

baby is coming very soon!

Our doctors appointment today went very well.  No baby yet, but he/she is coming soon!  We have about 2 weeks left.  Baby has a strong heart rate and everything is looking great.  Baby is weighing in at just around 7 lbs.  I am about 70% effaced, and almost to 1 centimeter dilated.  I have braxton hicks contractions every day, but other than it being uncomfortable... they don't hurt.  Things are moving right along.

I had my last shower on Saturday and it was so much fun.  My friend Jenny did an amazing job planning everything!  Kenton and I got some great things!  I think we have everything we need :)  This baby is SPOILED!!!

We will let everyone know when the time comes for us to head to the hospital.  Right now everything is as it should be, moving right along.  I go back to the doctor next Wednesday, and we will let you know if there are any updates.

I know a lot of people have been wanting to see updated pictures.  I will post some soon.... I promise.  I need to organize the baby's room and get it all cleaned up.  I will be sure to put pics up of the room and everything we got from our showers.  Thank you everyone for your constant prayers and for thinking of us.  We love you all, and are excited to introduce you to our new baby.

baby is a low rider...

My doctors appointment went well today.  We still have a few more weeks before baby Cornett arrives.  Nothing has really changed since last weeks appointment.  Baby and I are still doing very well.  My cervix is still the same, but we are moving right along.  Babys head is still very low, pushing right up against my bladder... all....day....long.  I've gained the perfect amount of weight so far, and hoping to stay that way till the end.  Once this baby comes out, I'm going to get my butt in gear and get in shape... I can't wait!  I'm ready for some hardcore exercise.  I've actually been very fortunate to have not gained any weight anywhere besides the belly, it's all baby!  We will have to post some pictures soon.

Our last birthing class is tonight.  Kenton and I are very excited for this to be the last one!  We've enjoyed the class for the most part, and have learned some new information, but for the most part.... a lot of it is common sence, or something you will have to experience on your own.  I've decided not to have a "birth plan," but to go into labor with a VERY open mind.  One thing I've learned from other peoples experiences is that nothing goes according to plan.  It is very important to keep an open mind and go with the flow.

I have my second baby shower this weekend.  I am really looking forward to it.  My wonderful friend Jenny is throwing it for me, and I know she has some fun stuff planned!  My mom is coming home tonight, and I am soooo excited to have her here!  She will be here till the end of April to help Kenton and I with anything we need.  I am so thankful for my momma!

We will be sure to let everyone know when there is news to report!  So far, everything is coming along the way it should.  Kenton and I are so excited to be parents, and are so thankful God has given us this opportunity.  We have surely been blessed.  Love you all!

Less than a month...

Our baby is due in less than 1 month.  We can't believe how fast its gone, and how soon it's coming!  It has been an adventure so far, and the real adventure hasn't even begun!  I'm looking forward to being able to hold my precious baby in my arms.  I can't wait to see if baby looks more like mommy or daddy.  Either way, as long as it is healthy and happy I will be so thankful!

Our doctors appointment today was pretty eventful!  I had to get the group B strep test done, hoping it comes back negative so I wont have to be on antibiotics during labor.  I also got my cervix checked, and it is starting to soften a little and my doctor said its about 60% effaced.  I've been having Braxton Hicks Contractions everyday, and it sounds like they are doing something!  My doctor also had me get an ultrasound done to check the fluid level, and everything looks great.  She also said that baby has dropped quite a bit, the head is very low.  Everything is on track!  As long as baby stays in for a few more weeks we should be good to go!!!

We have another child birth prep class tonight, next week is our last one.  It has been going well so far.  Kenton likes to laugh at me when we practice our breathing, but I know he will be a great support partner during labor.  Tonight we are going to learn about the different pain medications... something I am very interested in :)

Continue to pray for us and the health of our little baby.  We are so excited and can't wait to see our baby boy or girl.  Love you all!

In the home stretch....

We had another successful doctors visit today.  We got to see baby during the ultrasound and everything looks so good!  We could see that baby has a little bit of hair, a big round tummy, a good size head, and short arms and legs :)  Baby weighed 5lbs 9oz today, growing so much everyday.  We got a pretty good profile picture of baby, he/she had its little hand on his/her forehead... being dramatic I guess :)  I pretty much feel baby move around non stop at this point, unless its nap time of course, then baby is sleeping away.  I am measuring just a few days ahead of my due date, but they won't change the date.  My doctor said that she doesn't let anyone go past 41 weeks, which is great.  I am hoping for an on time baby, or if baby wants to come a few days early... that's fine too :)

I am also doing very well.  Besides the fact that I've been fighting a cold for a week and a half, everything is going very well for me.  My weight is still very good, normal to lower blood pressure, I'm still hanging in there.  Kenton and I started our child birth prep class last week.  Overall, it went pretty well.  I can honestly say we didn't really learn anything we didn't already know, but it is still good to get all the information.  We go every Wednesday for the next 3 weeks.  I have to give Kenton some credit, he is doing such a good job with being my support partner.  He has also got our swing put together, set up the baby monitors, and has played with many gadgets we got for our shower.  He has already said that he wants to read books to the baby, and when our kids get older.  He wants that to be HIS thing.  He will be a great papa.

Thank you for all your thoughts!  Please continue to pray for us.  Pray for the health of our new baby, and that everything goes well during labor and delivery.  Roughly 5 weeks away!!!  I just can't believe we are almost there.  Love you all!
